This CD is a wonderful resource for Devotional gatherings, Feasts, teaching and proclamation events, and just plain good listening. A little bit of blues, gospel, folk, pop, all combined in song and the spoken word, offers music for everyone to enjoy.

This CD had its conception over 2 years ago. I attended a Deepening on the current Five Year Plan and came away with an idea for our family to make a CD as a way to use the arts for teaching, to have music that could be used at Feasts, to promote unity and equality and to bring our family together in regular fellowship. I asked the family to meet for a consultation, presented my idea, and they all wholeheartedly embraced it.

This is truly a family affair. There are 17 of us, starting with my husband, Walter Heath. He has been sharing his prodigious vocal gift for years at Bahá'i Firesides, meetings, and on other recordings. Luckily, he passed down his artistic talent to his five children- Yolanda (Yogi), Jamey, Naimeh, Jordin and Adam. Also in our group are Yogi's husband, Sean Gilmer, who has been spreading the name of Bahá'u'lláh through song for years with his family on the East Coast, Jamey's wife, Tara Ellis, whose voice is like a Nightingale of Paradise, and Naimeh's husband, Teddy Lawrence, whose spiritual strength has impressed me since I first met him. Then there are the grandchildren - Jared, Malaika, and Myah Gilmer, Jazmin & Nakhmavani Heath, and Amani & Asiyih Lawrence. They have contributed the enthusiasm, sincerity, and joyful noises that only children can. And I am Barbara Heath, Walter's wife of almost 20 years, the organizer and instigator of the project. Over the two years we have been putting it together there have been delays for the stuff of life - 3 births, 2 deaths, 1 graduation, international teaching trips, sojourns to the Black Men's Gathering and Bosch and Louhelen for Deepenings - but we have finally finished. We hope as we sing praises to our Lord, it will inspire your all to stand up and shout, "Ya Bahá'u'l-Abhá!!"
