Mana

Mana
We are a Bahá'í inspired music and cultural performance group from the Pacific Islands, and most of us are based in Australia.

We are originally from Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti and the Cook Islands, and the word MANA means 'the Almighty' or 'the Powerful' and signifies strength of spirit in many languages of the Pacific.

The lyrics in our albums are based on the Bahá'í Writings and passages found in the sequence of courses developed by the Ruhi Institute, and we aim to produce one album for each Ruhi book.

We are proud of the rich and diverse cultures found in the Pacific Islands, and we strive to keep this alive in our music and performances.

The MANA initiative began several years ago while we were all doing 'Ruhi Book One' together with our families and friends, and we decided to put the quotes found in 'Book One' to music in order to help us memorize them.

An important part of these Study Circles is to come up with a service activity or project for the community, so we decided that our service project should be to share these songs with others around the world by producing an album, and we did!

That first album marked the beginning of a service initiative dedicated to producing one album per Ruhi book, and we channel all profits from the sales of our CD's and t-shirts into the recording of subsequent albums.

We hope that you enjoy our music, and you can use it both in your activities and as a way to help you memorize the quotations found in the Ruhi books.

Thank you for your support!
