Shadi Toloui-WallaceShadi Toloui-Wallace has released two internationally acclaimed albums titled Leather Bound Book (2009) and Verdant Isle (2011), through the support of her talented family and friends, and a well known producer Louie Shelton. These albums are a collection of songs and prayers inspired by the Baha'i Writings and her personal experiences growing up in the Bahá'í Faith. Reminiscent of her childhood, her stripped back vocals and compositions leave much room for the listener to experience their own spiritual journey. Shadi spent the last few years travelling and collaborating with other musicians, experimenting with various styles, playing in alternative bands and refining her craft, which consequently lead her in new and exciting directions. Five years later, Shadi has released her third studio album, titled Daughters of the Kingdom, produced by long time friend and collaborator Leif Thorseth. Like her other records, Daughters of the Kingdom is inspired by the Writings and Teachings of the Bahá'í Faith and draws on various themes, specifically the empowerment of women and station they possess in the Bahá'í Faith. Unlike her other records, this album features live studio musicians, and a new sound for devotional gatherings, study circles, holy days and any community event. Shadi currently lives in Vancouver, Canada, and works as an administrator at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music. She continues to serve through various grassroots projects such as the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program and other music initiatives. She also continues to travel and perform, offering her music as an opportunity to promote the teachings of the Bahá'í Faith and encourage others to support music inspired by the Holy Writings and engage in community building through the arts.
