Bahá’í Music Store

Welcome home to the Bahá’í Music Store

It’s wonderful to have you here again.

For many years, the Bahá’í Music Store has been a place to find devotional songs, children’s music, audio books and the work of Bahá’í-inspired artists from around the world. So when the store went dark for a couple of months, we know many of you wondered what had happened.

Here is the honest answer. We were not hacked, your data is safe, and the store was never closing. The server that hosted us failed catastrophically and destroyed the website and all its files. Thankfully, the store’s databases, including your account, your order history and your past purchases, survived completely intact, and no personal information was ever exposed.

We have rebuilt the store on a brand-new, faster and more secure home, and it is so good to open the doors again. Thank you for waiting for us, and for every song, prayer and story you have shared with your families and communities through this store.

Can’t find something you bought before? Please reach out. Contact us with what you’re looking for, and we will get back to you as soon as we possibly can to make sure you have it.

With love and gratitude,

Jon

It all started at the bright age of seven. I remember I was helping my sister do the dishes when some random song came on the radio. I instantly walked away from what I was doing. It was as if my feet weren't touching the ground and some magical force was propelling me toward the living room where the radio lay situated. I stood there in front of it for what seemed like eternity. I was so moved by that music. That wonderful music. To this day, I don't remember which song played on that old FM radio. I just remember that feeling. That resonating feeling that stirred me to the core. It made me forget everything around me, including doing the dishes. HAHA! But it lifted my soul in such a way that all I recall thinking was "I want to make people feel like that." Thus began my humble career as a musician. I've been attempting to recreate that feeling now for over 28 years. And though, I'll never truly know what lies deep in the hearts of my fans I can say that my dream to uplift their hearts has never changed.

Music has been a good friend to me. It has taken me from the US to Portugal, Portugal to Spain, Spain to Switzerland, Switzerland to Israel, France, China and now Canada. It's allowed me to to not only travel the world but also win awards, work with great people such as Rainn Wilson, Grammy Award Winner KC Porter, Juno Award Winner Joby Baker, China's first Pop Star Cheng Lin, open for Juno Award Winner Alex Cuba, and more recently score Kevin Spacey's latest movie. And all those things are great. But nothing moves me more than the jovial smile of a fan at the end of a concert. I think music's truest function is to inspire people to be better at whatever it is they do. If they're an engineer then music can inspire them to be better engineers. If they're a veterinarian, well then, then music can move them to be kinder to their furry little clients.

What is that you ask? What does my music sound like? Well…that's always an interesting question. And one which I think deserves a proper response. I guess I've become some sort of an amalgamation of my travels. In one life, I was a metal head. HAHA! Then I cocooned and became a classical guitarist. After that incarnation I transformed into a Flamenco Gypsy where the Spanish fire enveloped my being and overtook my guitar. Lastly I seem to have transmuted into something of a film scorer. Though, that's most probably due to my studies at Berklee. So when I write, I write with all my past incarnations whispering in my ear. You might hear some rock. And then some classical. Always a dollop of Flamenco as it moves me the most. Finally all that somehow gets encased in a film scoring profile that can only be glimpsed by the surest of listeners.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride because just like there isn't a single snowflake that ever repeats itself, so will I promise to always keep you guessing with each of my musical sculptures.
