Susan Engle and Jean White MarksIn 1979, Susan Engle and Jean Marks entered a studio to record their first children's project, "Come and Sing," under the able oversight of Warren Kime. Joined by pianists Andrew Marks and Jerry Lerner, guitarist Michael Moutrie, bassist Collins Trier, percussionist Wayne Welch, and with Warren's inimitable horns and recorders, Susan and Jean's voices got kids, families, and children's teachers singing together across the U.S. and around the world. The CDs "Loving Hands" and "Special Times" followed with the added participation of Charles Nolley, Rudi Fox, Tom Price, and other friends and family. In 2008, Susan teamed up with Doug Marshall and an expanded group of friends and family for the CD "Arm in Arm" featuring Doug's soulful horns as well as synthesizer accompaniments. In 1980, "Come and Sing" won an honorable mention from the California-based Angel Awards for excellence in media. And in 2009, "Arm in Arm" won an Angel Award and a Best in Class from the Religion Communicators Council for excellence in communication. Albums by Susan Engle and Jean White Marks |
