Gwendolyn Watson"A zany but serious musician" (New York Times), Gwendolyn Watson was encouraged to develop her natural talents and creativity in music from a very early age.
Having earned a B.A. in Music Performance (cello) from the University of California Santa Barbara, and an M.A. in Music Composition from Mills College, Oakland, CA, she found a unique way of earning her living by improvising music (cello/piano/voice/percussion) for American Modern Dancers , including ten years in New York City.
Honors include: 1967 Being invited as one of 14 cellists throughout the world to study with Spanish cellist, Pablo Casals, in Masterclasses held in Puerto Rico; 2001 Being invited to play in various settings at the Bahá'í World Center (Haifa, Israel) as part of the celebrations surrounding the Declaration of the Terraces.
